Back to School Flu

August is here and those with kids are gearing up for school! Unfortunately, in most communities, school-age children are the first age group to get the flu and then bring it home and to places where they interact with other kids. With the new viral strains on the rise and threat of swine flu how can we protect ourselves?

1. STRESS will wear down your immune system. So organize you and your children’s lives now. Stick to a schedule and do not overbook yourselves. It is good to remain active, but make sure there is down time for your body to relax.

2. EAT a diet full of fruits and vegetables and whole grains. Plan in advance to send kids with healthy snacks for after school sports and recreation. Sugar will immensely hinder the immune system to respond so steer clear from high sugar snacks.

3. IMMUNIZATIONS may be ineffective! There have been numerous studies showing the flu shot is not effective. Be careful! Do not take a flu shot containing thimersol (or mercury), and be informed before you decide to immunize you or your children!

WHAT IF I GET THE FLU? If you get the flu or cold symptoms immediately start supporting your immune system with Vitamin C, Bilberry, Astragalus, Echinacea, Goldenseal or other immune system boosters. The quicker you fortify your immune system the more likely you will recover sooner.

Your body was made to be able to fight off invaders. Help your body help itself by following these simple rules when preparing for Back To School!

Live Blood Analysis*

I recently had the privilege to meet an amazing scientist by the name of Dr. Donald Monus, owner of the Monus Research Foundation. Dr. Monus has spent over 20 years researching and finding natural cures to all kinds of ailments. He is also co-author of the book “What’s Killing You and What to do About it!”

One of the main resources he has used in his research has been the use of a very powerful microscope. He has looked at thousands of live blood specimens and has mastered the analysis of LIVE BLOOD.

It is amazing the things you can see in your blood. With Dr. Monus’ microscope he can see red blood cells, white blood cells, bacteria, fungi, viruses, cancer, heavy metals, cholesterol, parasites (of all kinds) and much more!

Meeting Dr. Monus was a momentous occasion for me as now I am able to offer Live Blood Analysis through The Monus Research Foundation to all my clients at low cost. Talk about getting to the root of the problem…what a better way to find out the root of our symptoms than to actually look at what kind of “junk” is in our blood.

So what do we do with the "junk" once it is found? Dr. Monus then provides his clients with instruction on what to do to improve their health if needed…from bio-frequency devices to catalyzed herbal concoctions Dr. Monus has many remedies to alleviate countless health conditions. Dr. Monus is truly one of a kind and I am thankful to be able to offer his services to my clients!

Laser Energetic Detox (LED)

Why would one be interested in Laser Energetic Detoxification (LED*)?
Because it may be an alternative health solution for many chronic health concerns such as: autoimmune disease, autism, brain fog, cancer, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, food sensitivities, hormonal imbalances, infections, inflammatory issues, lyme disease, musculoskeletal issues, parasites, and vaccination disturbances (among others).

LED was developed in 2001 by Dr. Lee Cowden and draws upon principles of Homeopathy, Acupuncture, Quantum Physics, and standard Biochemical and Nutritional Detoxification.

What would one expect during an LED visit?
A client would be evaluated initially by an FDA registered EAV* (Electro Acupuncture according to Voll) device. During this evaluation metal rods are grasped in the patients hands and the client is "put into circuit" with the EAV device. The device screens for energetic imbalances in the body that may reflect imbalances in physiology and/or the presence of toxicity. Following the screening a homeopathic preparation is imprinted with energetic balancing frequencies.

These frequencies are sequenced digitally into the laser (LED). Then the technician directs the laser beam with the customized frequencies into the body’s meridian network via accupoints on the body.

Is LED for you?
LED is non-invasive, and in itself does not involve the administration of chemical substances. However, the potential to immobilize toxins is real and could result in various reactions. LED may not work each and every time it is applied and/or may need to be provided more than once to be effective.

To make an appointment or for more information:
James Cook is a Technician trained in the use of an EAV device and LED therapy. James will be seeing clients in Kalamazoo, Michigan May 19-29th, 2009. Please contact Alternative Health Solutions at 269-629-0083 if you would like to make an appointment with James.

*Alternative Health Solutions (AHS) does not endorse the use of EAV devices or LED. However, AHS does advocate the client's right to choose their own alternative health solutions based on their own beliefs, education, and rights!

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)

Happy March and welcome to my blog! Spring is almost here and what a better time to break free from unhealthy fears and anxieties. This week's subject will be on EFT. What is it? Let's find out!

EFT was founded by Gary Craig. The idea behind EFT is that all negative emotions are caused by an energetic imbalance. It is thought that while tapping certain “meridians” on the body and actively thinking about an ailment one can reset an energetic imbalance within the body.

Gary’s EFT dream sprung from the pioneer of TFT (Thought Field Therapy or Callahan Techniques®). Dr Roger Callahan, a clinical psychologist and graduate from University of Michigan, pioneered TFT, or the so called energetic imbalance and tapping movement. Practitioners of all kinds have dubbed EFT and TFT alike as a thorough, powerful, and effective tool in managing or completely eliminating fears, anxieties, pain, grief, cravings, addictions, and much more.

Gary Craig offers a free downloadable manual on his website. If you can read…you should be able to master the Basic Recipe and be on your way to tapping away your fears and anxieties away! So start tapping! EFT is non-invasive and takes only minutes or seconds to perform and is worth a try!

I have personally benefited from applying EFT tapping techniques and will continue educating myself in this area of alternative health. After all, I am always searching for Alternative Health Solutions!

Emotional Support

Hello there!

Let's talk about emotions and tragedy. Why? Because I am absolutely convinced that emotions and tragedies play a significant role in our health or lack thereof. Why do I say this? Because all my clients are stressed...some from the average RAT RACE and others from actual trauma...whether physical or emotional.

As an advocate, I am committed to increasing my knowledge in this area. However, while I am deficient in this area I have not hesitated to find another practitioner who can lead you to an alternative health solution!

That someone is my colleague James Cook, PFT. Mr. Cook has been trained under Dr. Hamer through German New Medicine. The theory of German New Medicine is founded on the principle that every DISEASE originates from an unexpected shock/traumatic experience. This tragedy then not only affects the psyche, but also the part of the brain that corresponds biologically to the specific trauma. The response of the unexpected tragedy could lead to tumor growth, tissue degeneration, or functional loss of a body part(s).

Dr. Hamer has over 40,000 documented case studies to back up his theory. Upon the resolution of the emotional conflicts of his clients HEALING took place. This was not an overnight was/is a process.

Is this not thrilling to know? If you can resolve your unexpected emotional links leading to illness it may lead you to physical healing...perhaps even in ways that will be unexpected!

I am pleased to announce Mr. Cook will be visiting my office May 19-29 of 2009. I have been setting up appointments for clients to meet with him. He has 10 appointments left. Please contact me via email at for more information or to schedule an appointment.

If you are experiencing chronic illness and you have unresolved emotional issues, please contact me. Do not wait any longer to get on the road to health!

My hope is that one day I will be an expert in this area. But until then, I will refer my clients with emotional needs to James Cook PFT of Las Vegas, NV. I am confident he will be able to help you in the process of becoming well.

Good day!

Let's talk about hormones...

Hi there and welcome to my blog!

My first discussion will focus on natural hormone replacement therapy. What is it? It is replacing hormones using hormones that identically match what our bodies naturally produce. They are derived from precursors of soy and yam plants. There are many different names associated with natural hormone replacement therapy: bio-identical hormones, compounded hormones, plant-based hormones, and customized hormones.

What makes natural hormones different from "conventional" hormones? Most (not all) conventional hormones are synthetic...not biochemically identical to what our bodies naturally produce. What is wrong with that? It means they are foreign to our body. Whereas, compounded, plant hormones are identical and naturally produced by our body.

Does everyone over a certain age need hormone replacement therapy? Not necessarily. There are many reasons we may/may not need hormone therapy. This is why it is important when you are contemplating hormone replacement therapy that you work with someone who will take a holistic approach. Stress, diet, weight, and exercise are all important factors in gaining and maintaining hormone balance. Proper assessment of hormones levels via saliva testing is also extremely important.

Do not make hasty decisions. No hormone therapy is without risks. Educate yourself and become your own advocate. After all, it is your health!
